Running between Sat 22nd – Sun 30th October 2011; the fourth annual of the Tamar Trail Festival is being held in and around the Tamar Valley, situated in an area of outstanding natural beauty.
With over 40 events to participate in with many of the events being FREE OF CHARGE, although some do require a small fee or donation; the many adventures available include Trail Hunting, Mountain Biking and Mines, Shadow puppets, Historic Talks and Hedge Planting Days, Great estates and walks around the Tamar Trails as well as Historic Hikes, Night-vision adventures and wonderful workshops.

Exciting news. Plymouth is to host the 2011 America's Cup World Series; the world's most prestigious and thrilling yacht race from 10th September until 18th September.

We are just 20 minutes drive to the maritime city of Plymouth with its spectacular waterfront; the perfect place to showcase this event. Equally Mount Edgecombe will be a fantastic alternative view point again only 20mins away.

With Plymouth expecting thousands upon thousands of visitors it wil be important to ensure your accommodation as soon as possible for these dates.

Every year the way we set our clocks means we lose hundreds of hours of daylight while we sleep. Starring Johnny Depp; Tim Burton's fantasy film Alice In Wonderland was partly filmed at a fabulous location National Trusts Antony House, just under 12 miles away, as it was picked out of 30 locations to be the setting of Alice's Parents town house. Antony's delightful grounds provided the setting for the giant rabbithole, a gazebo and terrace for tea party dancing.

We are absolutely delighted to announce we have once again achieved the Quality in Tourism 4 Star grade for each of our 35 cottages and 3 bungalows.

Throughout the year the hard work and dedication of the Crylla Team is such that we can proudly receive our grading and offer our guests the reassurance of the quality and comfort they will receive whilst staying with us.

Our effort and commitment from starting with the grading scheme, over 15 years ago, has meant we have achieved the 4* level consistently from the beginning.

We are really proud to announce that we are now recycling more than ever before.

In the last four months we calculated 25% of our sites waste was recycled 18700 litres, what a great start. Thank you to all our guests and their efforts we hope you will join us in the push to increase the percentage.

Between our selves and our guests we are recyling the following materials: Paper, card, tin, cans, plastic, mixed glass, garden waste, carrier bags and batteries.

PORT ELIOT HOUSE & GARDENS 9 mins drive from Crylla Valley.
 Port Eliot in the village of St Germans, is one of the most beautiful places in Cornwall and is a perfect outing for all the family. The house is extremely ancient and was once a monastery, the passage of centuries can be felt as you walk around the estate. This year children 16 years and under have FREE admission if accompanied by a paying adult and the recently restored kitchen is open to visitors every Monday.
 The House & Gardens are open from 20th June to 7th July 2011 each day except Fridays from 2pm to 6pm (last admission at 5pm). Adult entry is £ 7.00 or £ 4.00 for garden only. There is a £ 6.00 entry for people arriving by public transport or in groups of 20 or more. The fantastic Port Eliot Tea Room is returning again this year, run by Rob Watson formally of Antony House. The tea room is open from 12.30pm for lunch and refreshments are all locally sourced and homemade. The tea room is open to non visitors.

Congratulations to 'Ed' our gardener for all his hard work and efforts this past year; all of which have paid off dividends, as not only do ourselves and our guests get to admire our beautiful grounds we have also have the honour of having been awarded 'First Place' in the Caradon In Bloom 2010 Awards for 'Best Self Catering - Large'.

No matter rain or shine our guys continuously work hard to make our surrounds ship shape and thankfully we have multiple awards in recognition of their efforts.

The Staff are looking very smart in their new summer Uniforms, although we have always worked efficiently as a close team, now we actually look like one!!! Matt, Dan & Ed are sporting the colours green & gold – very nicely guys!! Denise and Laura are smart in Black & gold – looking equally as good!!

Due to popular demand we are pleased to announce all cottages & bungalows now have their own DVD players! Video players are also available in some cottages, just in case you want to bring that favourite all time classics along with you.

Being held at the nearby Landrake Moto Parc just 2 minutes drive from our Cottage complex.

This is a great event to be held locally and if you're spectators, riders or mechanics and you're looking for some relaxing accomodation to come back to after a day at the track then why not take advantage of a 2 night minimum stay with us here at Crylla Valley Cottages.

What a great opportunity to head down to Cornwall and be relaxing in your Cottage quicker than most, being on the Cornwall-Devon border means you'll have less travel time and more down time!

There'll be plenty to do whatever the weather.... use the swimming pool at the China Fleet leisure club, visit the National Marine aquarium in Plymouth, take a day trip to Eden or enjoy a refreshing stroll on the beach.
