Book Your Summer Holiday in Cornwall

book your summer holiday in cornwall

If you are looking for somewhere remarkable to spend the summer holidays, look no further than beautiful Cornwall. With everything on offer from scenic views, to historical villages and golden sandy beaches which rival those found on the continent, you really couldn’t ask for more from a holiday in the UK.

Suitable for families and couples alike, Cornwall, particularly South East Cornwall offers everything you could wish for. With stunning places to visit such as the authentic Cornish fishing villages such as Looe and Polperro, you’ll be glad you made Cornwall your choice this summer.

Family Days Out

The region has plenty to offer when it comes to days out and family activities. The Eden Project, located outside St Austell in South East Cornwall, is made up of massive Biomes which house rainforests and plants from different regions of the world. There are stunning gardens to explore, exhibitions, open air summer concerts and exciting year-round family events, making the Eden project a great day out for old and young, families and couples.

Another perfect setting for a family day out is Siblyback Lake set in one of the region’s Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Offering a beautiful 3-mile circuit with stunning Bodmin Moor backdrop, it’s a great location to take in the tranquility and enjoy a walk around the lake, take a bike cycling or spotting one of the many bird species from the bird hide. There are also activities for the more adventurous with kayaking and windsurfing for all ages and abilities on offer. Rainbow trout angling permits are available and boats for fishing on the open water can be booked.

A theme park is a great way for you and your family to let off some steam and have some fun! Camel Creek Adventure Park, located just outside Wadebridge, has plenty of rides, a 5D simulator cinema, animal petting areas, play areas, various character days as well as dining options. Camel Creek offers lots of fun in all weathers for all kids young and old.

Explore the Coastline

If you’re looking for something more coastal, visit one of the many beaches, coves or coastal path walks. The South East Cornwall region has gentler sections of the Coastal Path and are suitable for people with mobility problems, pushchairs, wheelchairs and mobility scooters. The Rame Head Chapel walk in particular, has easy access and plenty of space to safely explore the headland and to take in the scenic views.

Whitsand Bay, the largest beach in South East Cornwall, has 3 miles of golden sand and breathtaking views. There are many other beaches that stretch along this coastline from sand, shingle and rock pools all waiting to be explored by your mini explorers!

More popular tourist destinations are the fishing towns of Looe and Polperro. Polperro known for its family friendly beach and fantastic fish dishes in the harbour as well as boat trips and annual music festival has a friendly and vibrant atmosphere.  The local museum is also worth a visit where you will find out about the area’s history surrounding smugglers.

If you want to be transported back in time, visit the atmospheric Charlestown – a unique and unspoiled Georgian fishing port constructed between 1791 and 1801.  It is clear to see why this location has been used in many films and the popular TV series ‘Poldark’. Couples and families with children of all ages will enjoy soaking up the romantic atmosphere of Charlestown.
