National Marine Aquarium

Plymouth (25 minute drive approx. from Crylla Valley)

With over 4000 animals waiting to meet you, including sharks, and the largest deep water tank in the UK, the National Marine Aquarium is a great place to take the kids for a day out!

Dartmoor Zoo

Sparkwell (25 minute drive approx. from Crylla Valley)

Dartmoor Zoo was inspiration for the movie ‘We Bought a Zoo’ starring Matt Damon, and is well worth a visit.  With 72 mammals, 38 birds, 21 reptiles, 16 invertebrates and 5 amphibians, Dartmoor Zoo is a fantastic day out for the whole family.

Pennywell Farm

Buckfastleigh (35 minute drive approx. from Crylla Valley)

Take the kids to meet some farmyard animals at Pennywell Farm, including miniature pigs and Alpacas!  With daily activities and some farm themed rides you’re bound to have lots of fun!

River Dart Country Park

Ashburton (40 minute drive approx. from Crylla Valley)

If it’s adventure you’re after then spend a day out with the kids at the River Dart Country Park.  Attractions include an adventure playground, climbing wall, pirate ship with paddling area, zip wires, water Zorbs and plenty of other fun things to do, guaranteed to help the kids burn off all that excess energy!

House of Marbles

Bovey Tracey (45 minute drive approx. from Crylla Valley)

If you are looking for something a little different to entertain young ones (and possibly bring out the inner child in you) then visit the House of Marbles at Bovey Tracey.  Be entertained with marble runs, animated animals, fairground mirrors, a penny press and a giant floating marble.  There are also lots of interesting hidden amusements in almost every nook and cranny!  Can you find the secret door in the garden area?

Woodlands Theme Park

Totnes (50 minute drive approx. from Crylla Valley)

Set within a vast countryside estate, Woodlands Theme Park has everything to entertain the kids whatever the weather including rides, water slides, adventure play areas, farmyard animals and a huge indoor play area.   In fact Woodlands has so much to offer you’ll be hard pushed to see it all in one day!

Go Ape

Exeter (50 minute drive approx. from Crylla Valley)

If swinging through the trees is your thing, then head to Go Ape in Haldon Forest Park near Exeter for a family day out with the kids.  With an abundance of zip wires, high ropes and log bridges high up in the tree canopies you can truly see if you have a head for heights!  Age restrictions apply.

Totnes Rare Breeds Farm

Totnes (50 minute drive approx. from Crylla Valley)

A selection of farmyard rare breeds can be seen, touched and fed at Totnes Rare Breeds Farm including red squirrels, pygmy goats, an eagle owl and a corn snake.  If you want to make a full day of it, you can take advantage of a special ‘3 and 1’ ticket which grants you travel on the South Devon Railway with entry to Totnes Rare Breeds Farm, along with entry to Dartmoor Otters & Buckfast Butterflies at Buckfastleigh.  The kids will love it!

Splashdown Water Park

Paignton (60 minute drive approx. from Crylla Valley)

Splashdown Water Park at Paignton guarantees plenty of wet and wild fun with a selection of water slides and pools.  It’s best visited on a hot & sunny day, but if the weather isn’t 100% don’t worry.  They provide wetsuit hire which means you can still enjoy the park even if the sky is grey!
