The Royal Cornwall Show
Crylla Valley Holliday Cottages are only about 40 -50 minutes away from the Royal showground at Wadebridge if you do visit us in June then this would make an ideal day out for all the family. This year’s show was blessed with 3 glorious days of sun shine with the average temperature reaching 20C
The event was opened this year by Princess Anne who is the president of the Royal Agricultural Society of the Commonwealth; her last visit to the show was in 2008 when she officially opened the Pavilion Centre on the showground.
The event features animal shows, flower shows, horse displays, countryside, forestry, steam and vintage vehicles and more than 1,000 trade stands. This year the show introduced some new events including gelding classes for both standard and miniature Shetland ponies. Also new for this year classes for retired and re-trained racehorses this proved to be popular and due to entry numbers more classes for sheep and pigs were also added.
The show, which is organised by the Royal Cornwall Agricultural Association, has been running since 1960 is held near Wadebridge and attracts more than 100,000 visitors each year.
