With February half term just around the corner, you might be thinking of things to do with the kids to try and keep them away from the lure of the TV and games consoles.  We have compiled a list of things to do in Cornwall during the February half term break which we think offer plenty of fun and entertainment for the whole family.  Read on for inspiration!

Bushcraft For Kids

Cotehele House (approx. 20 min drive from Crylla Valley)

Feb 12th, 13th & 14th

If your children are adventurous at heart, then why not give them a real-life Minecraft-esque experience where they will learn to build a shelter, light a controlled fire and learn survival skills in the wild!  This event takes place at Cotehele, a stunning National Trust estate with house, gardens, quay and mill.

Sea the Difference: Ocean Adventures

National Marine Aquarium (approx. 20 min drive from Crylla Valley)

Feb 10th – Feb 18th

During February Half Term the National Marine Aquarium will be holding ‘Sea the Difference: Ocean Adventures’, celebrating all of the wonderful marine life and habitats found in the UK.

There will be plenty of activities, games and adventures, and you can meet scientists, conservationists and marine heroes!

Bodmin & Wenford Steam Railway – Kids For a Quid!

Bodmin General Station (approx. 25 min drive from Crylla Valley)

Feb 11th – Feb 15th, Feb 18th

Take a trip on Cornwall’s premier steam railway. The family-friendly fun includes new activity and colouring sheets, along with the chance to learn more about the railway’s history and operations with the new dressing up box.

If that’s not enough reason to make a trip, kids travel for just £1 over half term!  Parents haven’t been forgotten though, with an opportunity to travel First Class with a Cornish cream tea!  Explore six and a half miles of track with a Freedom of the Line ticket – pay once and travel all day!

Early Man at Eden

The Eden Project (approx. 40 min drive from Crylla Valley)

Feb 10th – Feb 18th

Head down to the incredible Eden Project for intrepid adventures and behind-the-scenes fun based on Early Man, the latest movie by Aardman Animations – creators of Wallace & Gromit.  Attractions include:

  • Schnookle Quest in the Rainforest Biome where you can grab a map and go searching for your own Schnookle coin.
  • The Cave which allows you to release your inner caveman artist and draw some cave art on the walls.
  • The Dig where you can take part in an archaeological dig.
  • Early Man Bushcraft where you can learn some skills that stone age people needed to survive.
